Preferred for packaging artwork and print shops; scales without blurring bars. Keep quiet zones in layout.

Retail numbers vs internal labels
Retail checkout barcodes (EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, ITF-14 on trade items) identify products through a GTIN. Drawing a valid-looking symbol does not create a licensed GS1 number. Internal warehouse IDs usually belong on Code 128 or Code 39. Customer-facing links belong on a QR Code, often alongside—not instead of—the checkout barcode.

What this generator does — and does not do
Qrivio draws barcode symbols from the data you enter. For retail GTINs (EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, ITF-14), the check digit uses the GS1 Modulo-10 method shared by those identifiers. A valid symbol is not a licensed product number. Company prefixes and GTINs used at checkout are allocated by GS1 Member Organizations; this site does not sell or issue those numbers.

Common mistakes
Made-up retail EANs Using an invented EAN-13 on Amazon or supermarket listings. Marketplaces typically require a GS1-issued GTIN you are authorized to use.
Wrong sequence math Incrementing a full 13-digit EAN including the check digit. Advance the payload; the check digit usually changes.
Print damage Printing too small, with no quiet zone, or stretching SVG non-uniformly so bar widths distort.
QR instead of POS Replacing a checkout barcode with a URL QR unless the retailer and scanners actually support that workflow.
